Social Support Programs (Centre Based Day Care) are available to frail older people and younger people with a disability.

With Day Centres at New Town, Battery Point and Huntingfield, these programs are based on the wellness concept and are negotiated with participants based on the retention of old interests and the introduction of new skills within a supportive environment.

• The program provides companionship and entertainment thereby enhancing quality of life and stimulating participants emotionally, mentally and physically

• Interactive activities include: art, craft, nature, fun/reminiscence, cooking, history, gardening, selfhelp and mutual problem solving

• Bus trips are an important part of the program where community activities can be pursued

Day centre activities are usually available to clients between 10.00am and 3.00pm Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).
